Sophie Kasser
Born in Geneva, Switzerland in 1977, Sophie took dance and circus classes before being directed by Anne Vaucher at the Théâtre du Crève-Coeur and by Bénédict Gampert at the Conservatoire Populaire of Geneva.
She studied Corporeal Mime with Steven Wasson and Corinne Soum at the Ecole de Mime Corporel Dramatique of London and was a member of the company Théâtre de l'Ange Fou. From 1999 to 2003, Sophie helped create several shows, performing internationally and throughout the UK. At the same time, she followed a post-graduate programme in teaching and directing.
With Théâtre de l’Ange Fou, Sophie performed in: Showcase 1997, The Fall of the House of Usher, The Beauty and The Beast, In the Wars, Entangled Lives (nominated for the ' Fringe First Award' at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2001) and The Government Inspector (nominated for the 'Stage Award for Acting Excellence' and the 'Total Theatre Award' – Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2002).
Sophie has taught corporal mime in various European cities and recently performed at a conference about 20th century theatre masters in Belgium. She holds a Master in Arts Policy and Management from the Birkbeck University of London. Sophie is now teaching and directing at the Escuela de Mimo Corporal de Barcelona as well as performing in the company Moveo Teatro. She co-founded both in 2004.
Stephane Levy
Born in France in 1971, Stéphane first completed a BA in philosophy at the Université Paris X (Nanterre). He then started his corporeal mime training under the direction of Steven Wasson and Corinne Soum, the last assistants of Etienne Decroux.
From 1997 to 2000, he followed the post graduate programme of the Ecole de Mime Corporel Dramatique, specialized in teaching and directing. Stephane studied voice with John Wilde, Anne-Marie Speed and Pieter van Zyl. He then became the assistant of S. Wasson and C. Soum, and started teaching in the school.
From 1997 to 2002, he worked in the company Théâtre de l’Ange Fou, performing and helping to create several of their best-known shows: Memories of the Unknown Ties, The Lost Angel, Passage des Hommes sur la Terre, Entangled Lives (Nominated for the 'Fringe First Award' - Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2001), The Government Inspector (Nominated for the 'Stage Award for Acting Excellence' iand the 'Total Theatre Award' – Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2002).
In 2004 he joined Els Mechanics before co-founding the Escuela de Mimo Corporal de Barcelona and Moveo Teatro. Stephane works in Barcelona as a teacher, director and actor.
Olivier Decriaud
Olivier Décriaud was born in Port-Vila (ex New-Hebrides) in 1972. After having studied French literature in Lyon (France) and Greece, he trained in corporeal mime with Ivan Bacciochi and Robert Bennett in Paris, and at the Ecole de Mime Corporel Dramatique in London with Steven Wasson and Corinne Soum. He obtained his diploma in London in 1997, then followed the post-graduate programme specialised in teaching and directing.
Olivier was a member of the Théâtre de l’Ange Fou under the direction of Corinne Soum and Steve Wasson and performed in various shows, including The Fall of the House of Usher, The Beauty and the Beast, In the Wars and The Government Inspector.
Olivier also holds an MA in modern French Literature, and in 2004, spent a year in Port-Said (Egypt) where he thaught theatre and French classes at the Alliance Francaise.
In 2003, Olivier acted in the theatre play “Exit the King” and two short-films, “The Secret Life of Jane” and “Solo”, all in London. His current projects include working with Antony Wavrant in France, an upcoming theatre writer for whom he performed at the Theatre Petit Vélo of Clermont-Ferrant in January 2005. Olivier likes dividing his time between acting, writing and taking photos. |
